Tarangire National Park. The park has a diversity of landscapes including grass, acacia woodlands and forests and it is especially popular for its huge elephant herds and animals gathering at the river and swamps. Animals range from swarms of yellow breasted lovebirds to kudus, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras and impalas. Predators include lions, leopards and hyenas, while wild dogs are rare. In the late afternoon you will leave the park to travel to a nearby campsite, where you will spend the night in tents if you are lucky, you may see the famous tree-climbing lions.

Tarangire National Park is the sixth largest national park in Tanzania, it is located in Manyara Region. The name of the park originates from the Tarangire River that crosses the park. The Tarangire River is the primary source of fresh water for wild animals in the Tarangire Ecosystem during the annual dry season.
